The state of California took a great step forward in the fight to keep offshore drilling from our shores. They passed a couple resolutions this week to expand fisheries protections, and urge Congress to extend the moratorium on new oil leases. 

You can read a little more about it here. And while I tend to doubt there will be any meaningful action in Congress pre-election, I am pleased that one of the states most impacted by offshore drilling is standing up to the ridiculous drill crowd.
