Amazon should stop selling bee-killing pesticides

Bees are dying in huge numbers because of pesticide overuse. Here’s how Amazon can help:

Take Action

It’s a rapidly unfolding ecological tragedy.

The American bumblebee has declined by 90% or more in recent years. A primary culprit: the widespread overuse of bee-killing pesticides. These pesticides, known as neonics, can turn flowers into a deadly hazard for bees of all types.

But the retail giant Amazon still continues to sell neonic pesticides. If we want to make the world safe for bees again, we need to speak out.

Neonicotinoid pesticides kill bees

When a person sprays neonic pesticides on a flower garden or crops, they might think that they are protecting these plants. But the opposite might be true. Plants of all sorts depend upon bees for pollination. When bees die, many plants struggle to reproduce.

And bees die very, very fast when neonic pesticides are involved. Even exposure to tiny amounts of neonics can cause permanent brain damage in bees. Here’s a fact that’s even worse: The pesticide is addictive, so bees will return again and again to the deadly flower, often bringing their friends.

As long as neonics are in stock at Amazon, millions of gallons of the stuff will continue to be sprayed on lawns, gardens and fields. That’s why we’re mobilizing our movement to tell Amazon to stop selling these bee-killing pesticides.

Amazon has the power to help save the bees

More than perhaps any other company, Amazon has the power to determine the fate of America’s bees. If Amazon stopped selling neonics, fewer bees would risk their lives every time they land on a flower, and their population just might turn the corner.

If Environmental Action supporters like you can speak out loud and clear, we can persuade Amazon to take the right path and give bees across the country a second chance. Will you give the bees a fighting chance by calling on Amazon to stop selling bee-killing pesticides?

Tell Amazon: Neonic pesticides don’t belong at Amazon.

Tell Amazon: No more bee-killing pesticides

Tell Amazon: No more bee-killing pesticides

Neonic pesticides just aren't worth the environmental damage they cause. I therefore urge you to stop their sale immediately.
