Oil drilling is devastating for the environment. It destroys wildlife habitat, leads to oil spills, and accelerates the climate crisis.

It’s a bad idea anywhere, but it’s simply beyond the pale in the fragile wilderness of the Western Arctic.

This Arctic wilderness is too precious to risk

The Western Arctic is one of the last places on Earth we should be risking for the sake of a little more oil. The region is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including polar bears, millions of migratory birds, and more than 500,000 caribou.

But here’s the good news: The Interior Department is considering expanded protections for millions more acres across the Western Arctic. That’s on top of the 13 million acres that the Biden administration protected from oil and gas drilling earlier this year.

Now is our chance to protect the Western Arctic

The agency is accepting public comments until Sept. 16. We need to rally and show that there’s overwhelming public support to protect more of the Arctic.

Add your name: No oil and gas drilling in the Arctic.
