Protect the eastern regal fritillary butterfly from extinction

Re: Document ID FWS-R6-ES-2023-0182-0001

Extinction is forever. If we don’t do more to protect the eastern regal fritillary butterfly, it could soon disappear.

In order to save the eastern regal fritillary, we need to protect and expand its habitat. These butterflies need their home to be exactly right. Their complicated life cycle relies on several specific plants and features, including violet plants for the caterpillars to feed on, thick grasses for shelter, and rich sources of nectar to sustain the adults.

I strongly urge you to grant the eastern regal fritillary endangered status and the full protection of the Endangered Species Act. By protecting this butterfly and the habitat it depends on to survive, we can ensure this species is safe to thrive for generations to come.
