Tell Home Depot: The boreal deserves protection

Home Depot CEO Ted Decker:

The boreal forest is a precious resource — it stores over 300 billion tons of carbon while providing crucial habitat for some of North America’s most iconic species. With each truckload of lumber carted from the forest, we are not only losing trees — we’re losing one of the few remaining intact havens where caribou can forage.

The Home Depot shouldn’t sell lumber from the largest intact ecosystem on Earth.

The ancient old growth trees that make the boreal so unique will not come back in our lifetime — we only get one chance to save them, and so I strongly urge you to commit to preserving this forest, and leave the boreal for the caribou.
