Tell the FTC: We need truth in recycling

Federal Trade Commission Director Lina Khan,

When plastic manufacturers put recycling symbols on products that aren’t actually being recycled, they mislead consumers and harm the natural world. The plastic that consumers think they’re recycling ends up in landfills, in incinerators, or worse, in the natural environment, where it can harm or kill wildlife.

We need recycling labels to be clear, accurate and reliable. The FTC should limit recycling labels to products that are actually being recycled.
