Tell the FWS: Establish critical habitat for the rusty patched bumblebee

RE: Docket No. FWS-R3-ES-2024-0132

Hope was ignited across the country in 2017 when the rusty patched bumblebee was added to the Endangered Species List. We’re urging the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to take the next step toward saving this unique pollinator by establishing critical habitat zones for it.

While once common across the eastern United States and upper midwest, the rusty patched bumblebee’s numbers have plummeted by nearly 90% since the 90s. With loss of habitat and the overuse of bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides largely responsible for this population collapse, it’s clear that these native bumblebees have no chance of recovery without habitat protection.

Let’s give these critical pollinators the space they need to recover. We support the establishment of critical habitat for the rusty patched bumblebee.
